Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using Spool.

Effective date: June 22, 2025

Welcome to Spool— a SaaS platform built for 3D printing businesses. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Spool, including our printer management, filament tracking, cost calculator, inventory management, invoice generation, print library, business profiles, and premium request features. By using Spool you agree to be bound by these Terms.

01

Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using any part of Spool, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must stop using Spool immediately.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Spool. If you are using Spool on behalf of a business or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

02

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use Spool. By using the platform you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. Spool is intended for individuals and businesses engaged in or managing 3D printing operations.

03

Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, including your password and any authentication tokens. You must notify us immediately at Instagram DM if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

Spool supports Google OAuth for authentication. You are responsible for the security of your linked Google account and must comply with Google's terms of service when using this login method.

You are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your account. Spool will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorized use of your credentials due to your failure to keep them secure.

04

User Responsibilities

When using Spool, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, truthful, and complete information when creating your account and business profile.
  • Use Spool only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract the source code of Spool.
  • Not use Spool to transmit any spam, malware, or other harmful content.
  • Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to other user accounts or Spool infrastructure.
  • Not use automated scripts or bots to scrape, overload, or abuse the platform.
  • Keep your business and financial data (invoices, inventory, costs) accurate and up to date.
  • Not resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to Spool without prior written consent.
05

Service Availability

Spool is provided on an "as available" basis. We strive to maintain high uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or continuous availability of the platform.

Spool may be temporarily unavailable due to scheduled maintenance, unplanned outages, third-party service disruptions (including Supabase, Vercel, or other infrastructure providers), or events beyond our reasonable control.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, with or without notice, and shall not be liable to you or any third party for any such modification, suspension, or discontinuation.

06

Data Loss Disclaimer

While Spool employs industry-standard practices to protect your data, including regular backups through our database provider, we cannot guarantee that data will never be lost, corrupted, or unavailable.

You are solely responsible for maintaining independent backups of critical business data including invoices, inventory records, filament data, print logs, and cost calculations. Spool shall not be liable for any loss of data arising from technical failures, human error, or third-party infrastructure issues.

We strongly recommend regularly exporting your data using any export features provided within the platform.

07

Third-Party Integrations

Spool integrates with third-party services including but not limited to Google (OAuth authentication), Supabase (database and authentication infrastructure), and payment or analytics providers. Your use of these integrations is subject to the respective third-party terms of service and privacy policies.

Spool does not control and is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, security, or practices of third-party services. Any issues arising from third-party services are outside Spool's direct control and liability.

Links or integrations to external platforms within Spool are provided for convenience and do not constitute an endorsement of those platforms.

08

No Warranty

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Spool is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. This includes, without limitation, any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy.

Spool does not warrant that the platform will meet your specific requirements, that calculations produced by the cost calculator will be accurate for your particular business context, or that results derived from Spool's features will be error-free.

Cost calculations, profit margins, and pricing suggestions generated by Spool are estimates intended to assist your decision-making. They do not constitute professional financial, accounting, or business advice.

09

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Spool and its founders, employees, contractors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation loss of profits, revenue, data, business opportunities, or goodwill.

In no event shall Spool's total cumulative liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the platform exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to Spool in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred Indian Rupees (₹100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for certain damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you to the extent prohibited by law.

10

Termination

You may stop using Spool at any time. If you wish to delete your account, contact us at Instagram DM.

Spool reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate your access to the platform at our sole discretion, without notice, if we determine that you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or used the platform in a way that poses risk to other users or the integrity of the service.

Upon termination, your right to access and use Spool ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including but not limited to liability limitations, warranty disclaimers, and dispute resolution) shall continue to apply.

11

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our services, legal requirements, or business practices. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page.

Continued use of Spool after updated Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of those changes. We encourage you to periodically review this page to stay informed.
